Diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder one year after our family tragedy, Tony Corporon, my younger brother, shares the importance in finding help when you can’t find yourself.
How do you find emotional security when the world you know is shattered? When the songs on the radio trigger sadness and grief how do you find solace? During a time of tumultuous change, if you aren’t available for your children, who will be? Tony answered these questions the past six years as he learned to live life after the murders that took the lives of our father and Tony’s nephew (my son) Reat. On my podcast, “Emotional Security is Mental Health Care” you will hear the conversation between Tony and me as we delve into the tragic day, April 13, 2014, and how he and his family remember and celebrate Dad and Reat.
Mental health, emotional security, sadness and grief – these continue to be difficult topics and sometimes more for men than women. No matter your gender, take a listen. Understand that there are people who can help you be YOU. We are better together and together we will shine a light on peace.
